On Letting Go
As we enter this time of harvest and release, we're invited to embrace the natural cycles of gathering in and letting go. This season encourages us to reflect on what we've cultivated and discern what serves our highest good moving forward. In that process, we may uncover elements in our lives that, like the bright leaves on the trees, are ready to be released.

I hope you'll give yourself this one mindful minute, my friend. You deserve to be awake and at ease in your life. You deserve at least a few brief moments of your own time and tender attention.
One-Minute Tension and Release Practice
In the spirit of honoring and letting go, I invite you to join me in a simple, yet profound, one-minute practice. This exercise is designed to help you tap into the power of your breath and body to tenderly and mindfully release what no longer serves you, creating space for new possibilities and freedom.
1. Begin by finding a comfortable seated or standing position. Close your eyes if it feels right, or soften your gaze. Take a moment to connect with the rhythm of your natural breath.
2. Before you begin, you might choose to identify something in your life that no longer aligns with your path or serves your highest good. It could be a habit, belief, relationship, or anything else you're feeling called to release.
3. Take a deep breath in, filling your lungs fully. At the top of the breath pause and tense all the muscles in your body. Imagine tightly embracing the element you've identified to release. In this squeezing pause, thank that element you are ready to release for its role in your life... for protecting you, nourishing you, or bringing you to this moment.
4. Now, exhale fully with a deep sigh and release all the tension in your body. As you do, visualize releasing the element from your tight embrace. Open your arms wide, letting go with grace and gratitude. Imagine the space and freedom that now exists in the place this element once occupied. Feel the lightness and possibility that this act of letting go brings.
The Benefits of Letting Go
This practice of intentional release offers profound benefits for physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Physically, engaging and releasing muscles helps alleviate stress and tension and resets your baseline level of activation. Emotionally, acknowledging and letting go of what no longer serves us can lead to a deeper sense of awareness, liberation, efficacy, and peace. Spiritually, this practice aligns us with the natural cycle of release and renewal. When we are in rhythm with the world around us instead of at odds with it, we settle into a deep experience of our interconnectedness. We open ourselves to experiencing awe in a way that may be out of reach when we're fighting the natural flow of life.
As trees shed their leaves, they remind us of the beauty in letting go. Each leaf that falls to the ground nourishes the earth, making space for new growth. By releasing what no longer serves us we nourish our soil, fertilizing the new seeds we wish to plant and allowing new dreams the space to take root.
I hope this one-minute practice brings you a few moments of release, clarity, and renewal. May this autumn be a time of fruitful harvest and gentle letting go, and may you make abundant space for the infinite possibilities that await you.
